Shizuoka

Shizuoka Prefecture was known as Izu Province, Suruga Province, and Totomi Province during the Edo period, and was beloved by many tourists. It had 22 post towns among the 53 stations of the Tokaido, and was a region with lively interactions among people.

The area has views of Mt. Fuji which is depicted in Hokusai Katsushika's ukiyo-e, "Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji," as well as the spectacular tea fields of major tea producing region in Japan.

Overview of the tour

While gazing at Mt. Fuji in the distance, you will drive through the tea fields that spread across the Makinohara Plateau in Fujinokuni, where the refreshing aroma wafts through the air. On the way, you will experience the Japanese culture of "a cup of tea" and relaxing your mind and body. In addition, from various angles and locations, you will see Mt. Fuji, which gave Hokusai, a ukiyo-e artist, intense artistic energy. The beautiful scenery of Fujinokuni is said to be a healing spot and a power spot.

OUGI original experience

You will visit a tea garden practicing the "Traditional tea-grass integrated system in Shizuoka", which is unique to Fujinokuni and designated as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS). There you will learn about the production methods, history, efficacy, and delicious brewing methods of Japanese green tea.
You will visit the place where "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji," which influenced world-famous painter Van Gogh and composer Debussy. Your senses will be stimulated as you imagine the inspiration that Hokusai received about 190 years ago from the beautiful Mount Fuji spreading out before you.

A journey to discover the beautiful tea fields and Mt. Fuji in Fujinokuni starts from Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport, Shin-Fuji Station, Shizuoka Station, or Kakegawa Station on the bullet train. You can see Mt. Fuji when taking off or landing on international flights from Korea, China, and Taiwan, domestic flights, charter flights, and private jets. In addition to Japanese tea, Fujinokuni is also blessed with seafood and mountain produce. Please enjoy fresh seafood caught in the seas and lakes near Japan, vegetables harvested by local farmers, and locally produced sake.
