We released the confectionery experience program “The Dialogues of Japanese Sweets – WOKASHI -“

On Wednesday 1 April 2026, OUGI Inc. released “The Dialogues of Japanese Sweets -WOKASHI-” an cultural exchange programme for inbound tourism. Developed in collaboration with the Kaga City Yamashiro Onsen Tourism Association, this program is a tour where participants create a one-of-a-kind Japanese confectionary together with a wagashi (Japanese sweets) craftsman, based on the inspirations they gained using their five senses through various dialogues in Yamashiro Onsen.

This project was selected as a Regional Tourism Promotion Project (New Creation Type) in 2025. OUGI developed this tour with the people of Yamashiro Onsen in Kaga City. After conducting a pilot tour, OUGI continued to make improvements, and we are pleased to offer this tour to everyone.

This tour aims to be more than just a tourist experience; it’s a cultural retreat where you become a part of the community. Over four days, focusing on wagashi rooted in Yamashiro Onsen, you will experience creating your own original Japanese sweets (wagashi) with a wagashi craftsman (confectioner). You will have the deep conversations and interactions with local residents that arise through wagashi making and your stay in the area, along with the profound immersion in traditional culture. We believe that this tour will provide you with a moment to step away from everyday life and reflect on yourself.
