The tour “The Folklore of KAGURA 7” planned and offered by OUGI Inc., has been featured in the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) newsletter for overseas media in Japan released on 11th December.

The JNTO’s newsletter is positioned as an important source of information for international media in Japan to understand tourism trends across the country. Their newsletter selects topical content that will appeal to both domestic and international travelers, such as newly opened facilities, cultural experiences, and local events.

The fact that OUGI’s tour is introduced in their newsletter proves OUGI’s sincere approach to local culture, careful collaboration with partners, and approach to weaving the “story of Japan” into a tourism experience by an external public institution. It also means the direction of our tour development has been evaluated as “a valuable initiative even from an overseas perspective.”

“The Folklore of KAGURA 7” is a program designed to allow participants to learn, experience, and understand the story of the traditional performing art of “Kagura,” which is rooted in the local area, together with the successors of Buzen Kagura. It is not just an appreciation tour from an audience’s perspective, but rather a deeply immersive experience that allows participants to become a “part of the story” by learning about the background of the culture that has been passed down in the region. At that point of the immersive experience, our tour was evaluated to be selected as a priority support project as well as one of the “successful examples of tourism contents” of “Regional Tourism New Discovery Project” in 2024 by the Japan Tourism Agency.

OUGI continues to develop unique tours themed around the culture, history, and traditional industries of each region.
With continued cooperation with local stakeholders, we would like to continue to create and provide OUGI’s unique value to all over Japan.
